Match Trivia

Right away, let me sympathise with Raith Rovers for not obtaining a point at Ibrox Part, and congratulate them for their fine display. They surpassed themselves. Their game was as refreshing as it was unexpected. Fifteen minutes from the close, the only goal was notched by the Rangers. Morton lofted a corner-kick into the goalmouth, and in the course of a scrimmage, Archibald tapped the ball past Brown. Had the Kirkcaldy boys been as sharp near goal as they were in the outfield, they might have put themselves ahead in the first half. Inglis was the better of two good backs, while Raeburn, the Tranent junior, was as conspicuous as his colleague in a formidable half-back line. The forwards put in much effective work, Bauld and Jennings being particularly noticeable. Manderson was steadier than McCandless in the Ibrox rear. Meiklejohn, Bowie, Cunningham and Cairns were the others who impressed me in a Rangers side which was never allowed to se
