Match Trivia

Raith Rovers gave a plucky and whole-hearted display at Ibrox. Against a strong breeze they more than held their own, and actually scored first, which lead was neutralised by Livingstone before the interval. With the re-start the Rovers picked up the game again, and the ‘Light Blues’ goal had several narrow escapes, more particularly, when a dandy shot of Currie’s struck the upright furthest away from Hempsey. Archibald again put ‘the Fifers’ ahead, to which Livingstone and Cairns replied with one apiece, and the ex-Strathclyde recruit followed with a fourth. But resolute Raith were not done, Cobban gave them another goal, and with a little luck they might have evened up things once more.
