Match Trivia
The Rangers had the better of the game early in the first half, but their shooting was none too deadly, and McKenna was seldom sailed upon. After a grand shot by Smith, Livingstone opened the scoring with a header from a centre by the left-winger. The Queen’s played pluckily and with considerable skill after this and Jamieson equalised the score. Halftime – A draw 1 goal each. The Rangers attacked most persistently in the second half yet could not score owing to the brilliant play of McKenna, and their own weakness at goal. McDonald and Hamilton had chances of giving their side the lead, but both missed easy chances. The Queen’s did a large share of the attacking near the end, Findlay especially getting in some profitable work. Play was very exciting close on time each side having good chances of obtaining the winning goal. Result – A draw 1 goal each. Gate money £409; stands and enclosures £78 – total £487, estimated attendance 17,000
