Played on the ground of the Rangers at Ibrox Park. There were about 12,000 present when the game started. The Queen’s put in some spirited play at the start, but the Rangers were the first to score through Campbell who, however looked suspiciously offside. The referee however decided otherwise. A few minutes later McColl with a superb single-handed effort, equalised, and later on he scored a second close in by very clever tactics. At halftime the Queen’s led by 2 goals 1. The Rangers started the second period in brisk style, but both Graham and Hyslop missed chances. The Queen’s maintained their good form, and Wilson scored a third goal. The Queen’s had all the best of the game, which they won on their merits by 3 goals to 1. The Queen’s played splendidly all round and showed to advantage against the mixed team, which the Rangers had on the field. With the exception of Neil, the loser’s halfbacks were exceptionally weak.
