Match Trivia
For the evening match at Ibrox Queen’s Park and Rangers made several changed in their teams of the afternoon. The ‘Light Blues’, who had the assistance of Neil Harris, of Partick Thistle, were the better lot, but the amateurs nevertheless made a good appearance, especially in a defensive way. While ward got rid of a lot of dangerous balls, I would write down Peter Thorpe as the man who did most to hold the Ibrox attack. Against the most active wing he played splendidly throughout. Neil Harris scored from close range late in the first half, and although the Rangers pressed strongly after the resumption they failed to add to their score. Near the close the play opened out, and Walker, Sibbald and Morton tested Lock. Hendrie, of the Strollers’ eleven, played affine centre half-back game for the Amateurs, and Walker and Sibbald were clever on the right wing. Blair and Bowie impressed me most of the Ibrox rear half-dozen, and Harris, Livingstone and Lawson mattered most in front
