Match Trivia

At Ibrox Park, in fine weather, sixteen thousand spectators were present. The Queen’s Park played with the wind in the first half, but their opponents had the most of the play until near the interval, when Dickie charge had several narrow escapes. No goals were scored when the teams changed ends. Playing with the wind the Rangers fared as badly as their opponents had done, the Queen’s Park, on the other hand, giving a much-improved display. Stewart scored their first goal, and from a mistake of Smith’s at back McColl added another. Towards the close the same player got another, the Hampden team winning by 3 goals to none. The referee did not give satisfaction, his decisions regarding offside not being received with favour, and he disallowed the best goal of the match, scored by Low in the first half.
