Match Trivia

This League fixture was decided on Saturday afternoon on Ibrox Park before 7000 spectators. The Rangers had the advantage of a strong wind behind them in the first half, and this enabled them to at once get into their opponenets quarters, where Wilkie was early beaten by Stark from a well placed corner, while a few seconds later Speedie and Kyle in rapid succession added to the score. The visitors tried hard to beat back the strongly going Rangers, and being at last successful in this, Massey broke through and scored what proved to be their only goal. Before crossing over Hamilton and Speedie, added to the score, which at halftime stood – Rangers 5: Thistle 1. In the second half Rangers had again the upper hand, and after Speedie, Hamilton and Kyle had again scored they took matters easy, the game ending – Rangers 8: Thistle 1. The gate was £156 and £15 were taken at the stands, a total of £171
