This arrangement drew together a good crowd of spectators at Kinning Park many no doubt being anxious to see the Parkgrove and judge of their chances for getting well up in the Association Cup ties. The play was remarkably fast on both sides, the Parkgrove if anything showing greater speed than their opponents. The first half was got through without any scoring the Rangers having several corner flag kicks and close scrimmages at their opponents goal and it looked as if they were going to win easily; but bye and bye the Parkgrove began to act better together and were nearly successful in sending the ball under the Rangers goal from a sharp struggle. In the second half the younger club were pressed for a few seconds but eventually the forwards broke away and Miller getting the ball well in front, made a fine goal the goalkeeper in vain trying to stop the ball on its way. The Rangers then gave their opponents some hot work to save their goal and this was done gallantly till about a quarter of an hour from the call of time when a corner flag kick was so well managed that after a terrible scrimmage the Rangers equalised matters by forcing the ball under the Parkgrove goal- the ball coming off Gow and through. The Rangers wanted T Vallance and P Campbell and did not play so well together while the Parkgrove backs and goalkeeper and some of their forwards were in capital fettle
