Teams representing the above clubs met on Kinning Park on Saturday, When a pleasant game resulted in favour of the Rangers by nine goals to one. The Meeting was not of the one sided character the score seems to indicate and the first half hour’s play resulted in no advantage to either side. After this the home forwards played an excellent passing game and Morton twice within a few minutes scored. Lawrie took a third and McKenzie just at halftime made the best run of the day and added a fourth goal. On changing ends Morton headed a fifth goal, Pringle scored the sixth and Gossland the seventh. Houston for the Athletics near the close of the game credited his side with a goal, then followed tow additional points for the Rangers – one by McKenzie and the other by Gossland – making nine goals in all against one for the Athletics. For the losses Pollock and Wright at halfback offered some resistance a good defence was made by the goalkeeper and among the forwards Thomson showed to best advantage. The new members in the Rangers eleven – McKenzie, Morton and Lawrie played a splendid game.
