Match Trivia

Second Round played on Ibrox Park, before 7000 spectators, and in good weather conditions. Rangers played against the wind in the first half, but even with this handicap they had the better of the exchanges. Hamilton was tripped up near goal, but Gibson failed to score from the penalty. From a corner taken by MacDonald, Walker scored the first goal. Halftime score – Rangers 1 goal: Kilmarnock 0. Rangers continued to prove their superiority in the second portion of the game. Walker scored a second goal at close range, and shortly after Robertson scored another. Once in a while the visiting forwards shown good combination and were unlucky in not scoring, but they tired visibly in the closing stages, and MacDonald got through for Rangers. Result – Rangers 4 goals: Kilmarnock 0. Gate-money £165 16s 3d: stands £24 6s 3d – total £190 2s 9d
