Match Trivia
This League match was played at Ibrox Park before a poor attendance and in miserable weather. Kilmarnock were first to attack, and from a slip by Law Drain had an opportunity, but shot wildly. Rangers gradually assumed the upper hand, Kyle and Smith being particularly lively on the left wing. From long range Livingstone drove hard into goal. Young caught the ball, but in falling allowed it to get over the line, and Rangers were one up. Killie fought had for an equalising goal, but there was no further scoring in the first half, Rangers latterly resuming the attack. Rangers’ superiority forward gave them all the advantage in the second half. It was not until near the finish, however, thanks to good half-back play on Killie’s part, that they managed to augment their score. Goals were obtained by Spiers and Livingstone, both being good efforts, the latter the result of good play by Kyle and Smith. Killie failed to score, the game ending as above
