At Ibrox Park, Govan, estimated attendance 8000, drawings (gate and stands) £202. Kilmarnock were quite as clever as their opponents in the opening stages, and Templeton was distinctly unfortunate in having a fine shot unwillingly blocked. Latterly the Rangers forwards settled down and kept play round Aitken, but their shooting was very weak. Another break away by Templeton resulted in the scoring of the first goal. The left-winger forced a corner and placed it so accurately that Ramsay easily headed through. Until halftime Rangers pressed and five minutes from the interval May scored with a curling shot. In the second half although the Rangers always looked the more dangerous side Kilmarnock had more of the play. The only occasion however when either side looked like scoring was when Smith had a grand shot saved by Aitken, and on the other hand when Ramsay missed from ten yards range. Before the finish however Rangers were awarded a penalty, but although Bennett scored from it in the first instance, the kick was ordered to be retaken, and on the second occasion he missed
