Match Trivia

The first of this season home-and-home League fixtures was decided on Ibrox Park in presence of a capital attendance. The teams made a good start, but the Rangers early took up a strong position, and in half an hour scored five goals – Campbell two; Hamilton, Cameron, and A Smith, one each; while Kilmarnock got a solitary goal taken cleverly by Dr Crerar. Halftime figures were – Rangers 5: Kilmarnock 1. Neil did not reappear in the second half owing to an accident near the close of the first period, while Cameron was off for 20 minutes with a cut on the face. The second half was pretty much of a scramble, and no goals were scored. The result was – Rangers 5 goals: Kilmarnock 1. The amount drawn at the gate and stands was £230.
