Inverness Thistle created a very favourable impression at Ibrox Park against the Rangers, and although the ground side did not stretch themselves unduly there was sufficient good football shown in the play of their opponents to create a strong impression that they will be a formidable lot in their own class. Their outstanding men were Gray (who used to be with Partick Thistle), McCrae and McDonald, all of whom distinguished themselves by good judgement and cleverness. It was half an hour before Gilchrest who had been supporting Hogg well, opened the scoring, and before half-time May got another with a long deceptive shot which the goalkeeper did not reach.
