Match Trivia
At Ibrox Park, Govan estimated attendance 4000, drawings (gate and stands) £88. Rangers opened against the gale and after Duguid had cleared from Bennett, Callaghan and Smith had a good run for Hibernian, but the wind carried Callaghan’s shot over. Hibernian had most of the game and Rennie had to save a good shot from Dixon, while at the other end Allan saved well from Smith. Towards the interval Rangers attacked vigorously and Smith netted but offside saved Hibernian. The storm had abated somewhat when play was resumed. Rangers were first dangerous, Murray having a fine shot saved nicely by Allan, while later Main cleared well from Smith. Hibernian got away on the right, and following a good run Callaghan shot well, Rennie however clearing. Play to the finish favoured Rangers who however failed to score
