Match Trivia
There was not a very large crowd at Ibrox to witness the return League game between Hibs and Rangers. Those who did turn out, however saw as big a collapse as has been witnessed in the League competition this season. It is admitted that the Rangers are a good team, but there are who would admit that, previous to Saturday, they would defeat the Hibs by 6 clear goals. Such a result was largely brought about by the fine effective play of Ibrox halves. Gibson, Neil and Robertson were well nigh unbeatable. Both in attack and defence their work was good, and rave indeed were the occasions that Smith, Dickie and Drummond had to exert themselves. Six goals is a bad record against a custodian of Rennie’s rank. So well judged and accurate was the Rangers forward work at goal that not one of the points registered against him could in any way be termed saveable, and the heavy defeat can only be put down as a complete collapse of the entire team.
