Match Trivia
The game at Ibrox Park was almost uninteresting throughout, but there were several contributory causes. The absence of Steven, who was injured early, upset the Rangers front rank, and the adoption of the one-back game later on spoiled many efforts by the Hibs forwards. When the Hibs took the lead in the second half it appeared as if full points were to be theirs, fir the home side were not shaping well. Campbell however took the responsibility upon himself of going forward and leaving Jackson to do the defending, and the captain had the satisfaction of drawing the score levels three minutes from the close with a fine shot. The goal, which Harker scored for Hibs, was a splendid effort, a fast rising ball from the penalty line leaving Newbigging helpless. To Callaghan however, belongs the credit of the goal. An adroit move of his completely deceived the Rangers defence, and Harker got clean through. The Rangers were again weak in shooting, and Hamilton failed to accept several good opportunities to score. May was badly missed from the half-back line, and the backs were only fair. Harker, Borthwick, Main, Allan and Rennie were the outstanding players for the Hibs, who without being brilliant were a well-balanced side
