Match Trivia

Played on Ibrox Park before about 6000 spectators. Rangers opened well, and after about 10 minutes play Hamilton broke through and scored after which Hearts almost completely monopolised the play, and ere the interval they had scored a couple of goals, the result of excellent work by the left wing pair, who were the steadiest all through the game. Halftime score – Hearts 2: Rangers 1. After the interval the Rangers improved generally, but had always the bad fault of being too dilatory in shooting, and it was not till the Hearts got a third that the home team really played up to form. When they got going they played good football, and ere long they had made up the leeway, and even managed to lead by 4 goals to 3 after the game looked homelessly lost. Just ere time was called, and through very bad play by N Smith the Hearts equalised. Result – A draw 4 goals each. Money taken at gates and stands amounted to £168
