Match Trivia

These teams met at Ibrox Park, Glasgow in a game under First League auspices. The weather was most unfavourable and the ground was sodden after the recent heavy rain. The attendance was very small. In view of the League match with Heart of Midlothian at Edinburgh on Saturday, and the fact that two of their players are to play for Scotland at Crystal Palace on the same day the directorate of the Rangers rested several of their prominent players. The game was by no means an interesting one at any stage, the progress of play favouring the home side almost entirely. In the first half Gordon scored twice and Campbell got a third point from a penalty. At the interval the Ibrox club led by three goals to nothing. In the second half the visitors were largely on the defensive, and Rangers though seldom anxious to add to their score, got a fourth point towards the close, Gordon again being the marksman. The final result of a one-sided game was – Rangers 4: Hamilton Academicals 0
