Dixon, I place first of the Rangers trio; and Bowie next; and among the backs McNair took pride of place. Old Alex, who was almost uncannily anticipative at times, kept a tight grip of the elusive Doctor. Gordon took the Rangers out of several tight corners, and Bert Manderson and Willie McStay could always be relied upon.
