Match Trivia
This return fixture took place at Ibrox Park, before 7000 spectators, in fine football weather. The Rangers shortly after the start scored after attacking strongly, Stark beating the goalkeeper. The visitor’s left wing Campbell and Mitchell led an attack on the Rangers goal, but Sinclair cleared when called upon. Again the home team attacked and Kivlichan scored their second goal. Falkirk improved greatly after this reverse, but failed to get the better of Sinclair, who made among other saves, two fine clearances from Simpson. Halftime – Rangers 2 goals: Falkirk 0. In the second half the visitors played strenuously and well to reduce the leeway, but they were very unlucky at goal. The home left wing broke away and McPhie finished the run by scoring with an angular shot. In spite of this unlooked for reverse, Falkirk played with great determination, and near the close after a corner kick in their favour Mitchell scored. The closing minutes were very exciting but no further scoring took place. Result – Rangers 3 goals: Falkirk 1 goal. Gate money £156 6d; stands £20 8s – total £176 8s 6d
