I saw enough of Rangers and Falkirk through the fog and rain at Ibrox to justify me saying that the batter balanced ‘Light Blues’ were the superior team and deserved to win. They opened the scoring early through Cairns, and after Murphy had let a great chance for Falkirk slip, Scott Duncan got another. Falkirk attacked with such vim after the interval that they got through the Rangers’ defence and D Comrie beat Hempsey. Twenty minutes before the finish Scott Duncan again got the better of Stewart. Rangers’ victory was due principally to the fact that every man did his bit. The Brockville team were a shade weaker fore and aft, and were not just so reliable at half-back. Harvie at half-back shaped very well indeed, and several of the forwards showed ability about the average. Stewart and Orrock gave their colleagues confidence and strength
