Match Trivia
Played at Ibrox Park before about 6000 spectators. Rangers with the wind behind them in the first half had the better of the play, and gave a fine display of clever close passing play, Hamilton being the first to score. The visitors played really good football, and gave the Rangers defence plenty of trouble, but against the strong wind their finishing shots were not very deadly. Wilkie and Smith scored other two goals, and near halftime a high shot of the latter’s was headed through his own goal by Watson. Halftime – Rangers 4 goals: Dundee 0. The Dundee team played a strong rushing game in the second half and shot well, but their luck was very poor, their best efforts being futile. After a long period of defensive work the Rangers front rank broke away, and A Smith with a powerful shot close to the upright beat Stewart. Till near the close play was very even, and in the last minute Smith scored again close in. Result – Rangers 6 goals: Dundee 0
