Match Trivia
Played at Ibrox before a good attendance. The Rangers opened strongly, and for a time had matters pretty much their own way. Latterly play became more even, and both goals ran some narrow escapes. The Rangers again asserted themselves, however and Hamilton scored a clever goal, while a few minutes later Smith added a second. Dundee came very near scoring after these reverses, but failed at close quarters. Speedie registered a third point with a clever header. Dundee them went away in fine style, and Turnbull scored close in. Play was evenly contested until the interval. Halftime Rangers 3: Dundee 1. Dundee opened well on resuming, but McPherson saved smartly. Dundee continued to hold the upper hand, but could not score. Towards the close the Rangers pressed, but Howes defended in fine style clearing his lines time and again. No further scoring took place. Result Rangers 3 goals: Dundee 1 goal.
