Match Trivia
Played at Ibrox Park before about 13,000 spectators. Rangers opened well, Hamilton scoring in the first minute, and there after they gave a splendid display of all-round football, but McArthur and his backs kept them from adding to their score. Bell got well away after a period of defensive work by the Celts, and his shot for goal was caught up by McQustra just as it was going past and converted. Halftime, 1 each. Play in the second half was dull at times, both sets of forwards showing lack of vitality, but occasionally brilliant bursts were witnessed. The Celts took a turn at pressing, and in a melee the ball bounded off Crawford’s arm and a penalty was awarded, from which Bell scored. To the end Rangers played up pluckily, but they could not get on equality. Result – Celtic 2 goals: Rangers 1
