Match Trivia
Played at Ibrox on Saturday on a soft turf in presence of about 11,000 spectators. Aided by the wind the Celts pressed at the start, but fine defence by Dickie and his backs kept them out till after 20 minutes, when the Rangers backs ceased playing to claim that a ball centred by Gilhooley had been over the line, and Hodge getting in front of Dickie scored for the Parkhead team. McPherson and Miller broke away, occasionally and tested McArthur, but he proved equal to all calls made on him. At halftime the Celts led by a goal to none. In the second half the Rangers having the benefit of the wind got early to work, and after 15 minutes Miller with a deceptive sh0t equalised for the Rangers. Thereafter the Ibrox team had much the best of matters the, but brilliant defence by McArthur saved the Celts. The result was – Rangers 1 goal
