Match Trivia

Played on Ibrox Park, before about 12,000 spectators. The play was very even at the outset, but after Livingstone had scored for Celtic. Young had to retire badly injured, and with only ten men for the rest of the game the Rangers were severly handicapped and Livingstone scored again ere the interval. Halftime result – Celtic 2 goals: Rangers 0. The second half was pretty even, but the Rangers were very weak near goal. Main’s shooting being weak and erratic, so that McArthur had little or nothing to do. Livingstone was in great form for the Celts, and he added other two goals, and near the close a fine centre of his was converted by Main. Quinn and Gibson had some lively bouts, but the experience of the Ranger was too much for the Celts recruit. Result – Celtic 5 goals: Rangers 0.
