Rangers very nearly lost what might have been a precious League point against Ayr United at Ibrox last night, but they will regret more the loss of McNee for the remainder of the season. Midway in the first half, McNee came down in a tackle with Craik, and he was taken off on a stretcher. He is in the Victoria Infirmary with a fracture of the tibia. At that time, Rangers led by a goal, shot by Smith from Forshaws cross in 16 minutes, but Ayr had had quite as much of the play.
