This match came off at Ibrox Park and resulted in a win for the Rangers by four goals to two. The Ayr team won the toss, and the Rangers started the game. In about five minutes the Ayr men had a point to their credit, which after a fine run Campbell scored. The Rangers pressed again, but Ayr broke away and in a short time McKenzie was again besieged. The Rangers again returned to the charge, and completely hammered in their opponents. This was continued for a time, but the Ayr men got away, and for a third time McKenzie was surrounded. This time they were successful, Cunningham notching a point. Again the Rangers pressed, and this time a goal was scored by Wyllie. Halftime was called the game being in favour of the Ayr by two goals to one. In the second half the Rangers rallied, and added three goals to their score, the Ayr team meanwhile scoring nothing. The game thus ended in a win for the Rangers by four goals to two
