Match Trivia
Played on the ground of the former club, Kinning Park, and resulted in a victory for the Rangers by five goals to none. The playing of the Rangers was as usual brilliant, and justice could not be done by mentioning any particular player. The strangers showed great pluck and endurance and played a first class game, but wanted greatly the combined action and nimbleness of their opponents. Although McVicar (back) and Laing (as a half back) played a most brilliant game, they were unable to save the downfall of their colours. Phillips, Hardrie, and Reid (as forwards) played well for their side, and gave their opponent’s back players a good deal of trouble, but Vallance was always there when wanted and staved off every attack made on his fortress
