Match Trivia
If the football was good only in patches at Ibrox last night, we got at least a thrilling finish. Over the piece Rangers were just a shade better than lowly Albion Rovers, but had the game ended in a draw no one could have complained. The Rovers made a plucky fight at the finish. In the first half-hour we saw quite a number of spasmodic dashed by both sets of forwards. Generally, the Ibrox side were the more methodical, and it was not surprising that they opened the scoring through Archibald with a great drive. Willie Reid had one or two great drive. Willie Reid had one or two half chances, by the never got in a real Reid express. Just on half-time Cunningham put on a second goal for Rangers. Rovers began the second half as if they really meant it. It was only a flash however, and play was not brilliant for half an hour. With fifteen minutes to go the Coatbridge side raided persistently, and Blue got home a goal. The equaliser almost came when five minutes remained for play, McSkimming having hard luck with a free kick. Beat for Rangers were Manderson, Dixon, Archibald and Morton. Kerr, McSkimming, Greenshield, Blue and Hillhouse were Albion’s outstanding men
