Match Trivia

What promised to be one of the keenest gamed of the season was entirely spoiled by the weather condition. Notwithstanding the downpour, which prevailed more or less throughout the game, the attendance, some 15,000 went far to confirm the fact that the ‘Light blues’ stand alone in attractive power. It was anticipated that the contest would in way serve as a guide to the claims of the respective centre forwards for international honours, but the test was somewhat disappointing. Ture, the Airdrie man showed sufficient dash and ability in the first half to confirm all the good things said about him, and if later he was outshone by his Ibrox rival, this was more due to the fact that the Ranger got far more assistance from the his confreres than did the Airdrie player. Otherwise the game, apart from stamina was without feature. Rangers in the end were worthy winners, and while their second goal came from a penalty kick, still the margin represented their superiority over the Lanarkshire eleven
