Match Trivia
These teams met on Kinning Park and for the second time within a month the Rangers inflicted a crushing defeat on the Paisley representatives the score at call of time being Rangers nine goals Abercorn two goals. Both clubs were well represented. Thomas Vallance took up his old position as one of the backs for the light blues and taking into consideration his long absence from the football field and the heavy nature of the ground he played remarkably well. The Abercorn eleven worked with great determination and for the first twenty minutes appeared as if they were going to have matters all their own way as during that time they not only pressed the senior club but also scored the first point. The Rangers after this worked much better together and rapidly placed three goals to their credit before halftime was announced. On changing ends the Kinning Park forwards added another goal making the score four goals to one. At this stage of the game one of the Abercorn players unfortunately strained his leg and had to be assisted off the field. Playing with ten men however they made several inroads into the Rangers ground and eventually a second goals was put to their credit. The Rangers forwards from this till call of time had much the best of the play and before time was called five more goals were taken by them making the score nine goals to a couple in their favour. The play of both sides was good. Thomson for the Rangers distinguished himself throughout both for steady passing and good shooting at goal
