Alex Rae

Released by Graeme Souness when at Rangers as a teenager, boyhood fan Alex Rae forged a successful career South of the border with Millwall, Sunderland and Wolves.

Rae’s lifelong ambition was fulfilled when Alex McLeish brought the tough tackling midfielder back to Ibrox in 2004 on a Bosman signing.

Although hampered by injury, Rae was influential as the side won the League Cup and Championship during the 2004/05 campaign.

He subsequently managed Dundee and St. Mirren and has also worked alongside McLeish in managerial roles.

A real competitor who still loves pulling on the blue jersey turning out frequently in charity matches.
