Match Trivia

The return Inter-City League match was decided on Hampden Park, the weather and ground were alike good, and the attendance numbered 6000. The Queen’s kicked off and were the first to get near goal, though they were easily sent back. The Rangers had numerous chances, and their shooting was generally good, but Parkinson played a fine game and thwarted them. The first goal was scored by W Stewart at the finish of a tricky run, and near the interval Robertson scored from a penalty. Halftime score – Queen’s Park 1 goal: Rangers 1 goal. The second half was equally contested, and some excellent play was witnessed, McPherson scored the winning goal, and the game finished – Rangers 2 goals: Queen’s Park 1 goal.
