This interesting game was played on the ground of the senior Association Club and after a tussle which was remarkable for the scientific play on both sides, resulted in favour of the Queen’s Park by two goals of nothing. The game was for the benefit of the sufferers by the Bridgeton fire and over 2,000 persons paid for admission at the gate. During the first half of the game the younger club played with much spirit and it took their elder opponents all their time to keep their goal intact on several occasions. Shortly after ends were charged however the Queen’s Park not only invaded the Rangers territory, but by the aid of Laurie were credited with their first goal, after a beautiful combined run. Some time afterwards a second goal was scored by McGill, but H McNeil run the ball up by a fine effort and centred it to McGill who was in front of the goal and he sent it through.
