Match Trivia

Queen’s Park and Rangers visited Barrhead on Wednesday night and played a game on Dunterlie Park in aid of the funds for Arthurlie’s new ground. Unfortunately the weather was of the worst description, rain falling heavily during the whole game. Both teams were well represented. In the first portion of the game the play was hard and interesting, despite the depressing atmospheric conditions, and good football was shown by both elevens. Queen’s Park opened the scoring from McLean, and near the interval Speedie equalised for the Rangers. At half-time the scores were equal. Shortly after the start of the second half Miller scored a second for Queen’s, Speedie ultimately getting a second for the Rangers for a bad clearance of Richmond’s. The game finished in semi-darkness – a draw, two goals each.
