Match Trivia
At Hampden Park, Glasgow estimated attendance 32,000 drawings (gate and stands) £623. Rangers opened well and after Adam had several times been tested Murray picked up a centre from Bennett, and scored. The amateur forwards although playing hardly so well as on recent weeks, were still very aggressive, and Dickson on one occasion all but scored. Rangers however were the smarter side, their only weakness being in the goalmouth, and Gordon and Bennett both failed badly from left wing centres. Queen’s Park improved but neither side scored again before halftime. The second half went even more strongly in favour of the amateurs than the first half had gone for Rangers. Twice Paul outpaced Sharp and centred for Bowie to miss, but latterly the left-winger had the satisfaction of seeing McLean equaliser from one of his centres. In the last 20 minutes the Queen’s had their professional opponents strictly on the defensive, and only the fine play of Craig and Rennie prevented the amateurs taking both points
