Match Trivia

The Glasgow Rangers had to take a back seat on Saturday at Dumfries, when they mat the Wanderers. They had their full team out with the exception of Mackie, and played Morrison of (3rd L.R.V.) and Wilkie (Uddingston). The Wanderers surprised their supporters by the brilliancy of their play, and led at half-time by 2 to 1. They did even better in the second half and put on four goals, while the Rangers just on the call of time put on one, and retired beaten by 6 to 2. The whole of the winners played a magnificent game, the three half-backs and Paterson and Halliday at back being always too clever for the Rangers. Irving was in great form in the front. Ritchie kept a splendid goal for the losers and Gow put in a vast amount of work at back. ‘Tuck’ was the best of the halves, and Wylie and McKenzie excelled in the front rank
