Match Trivia

At Clune Park, Port Glasgow, estimated attendance 4000, drawings (gate and stand) £80. In the opening stages Rangers forced the pace, but though having the best of matters they could not score. Port Glasgow first visit to Rennie resulted in Hagin scoring from a pass from R Findlay. With their success the Port played a confident game, and for a time the Rangers had to defend. Campbell (Rangers) met with an accident and had to retire. During his absence Port Glasgow scored again, Gourlay netting the ball from a corner. Nearing the interval Rangers played hard, but had no luck at goal. In the second half Rangers with a full team has nearly all the play, but again failed at goal. Montgomery and Ritchie for the Port played a most strenuous game, and do as they would Rangers could not score
