Match Trivia
The Inter-City League match was played at Partick on Saturday before 3000 spectators. The game from the outset was greatly in favour of the Thistle, who infused an amount of dash into their plat that seemed to astonish the Rangers as much as it delighted Meadowside supporters. Crawford was early given offside, and the Thistle continued the attack but Dickie was so active between the sticks that he kept them from scoring. Against the wind the Rangers rarely got away, although W Walker gave Howden a couple of hard shots to stop. Halftime – No scoring. No sooner had the second half commenced than Dickie was beaten by Kennedy. This roused the Rangers, but they found the home defence was not to be trifled with, and the ball travelled rapidly from end to end. Even against the breeze the Thistle more than held their own, and Kennedy popped on a second goal. The play was most exciting right to the finish, the Rangers trying hard to beat Howden but without success. Result – Partick Thistle 2: Rangers 0
