A splendid run by Paul into the Rangers ground made things look bad for them, but Gow resent the ball well into midfield, relieving his side for the time being. After this Duff was called on to throw out the ball, followed shortly after by a foul against the Rangers. The Thistle them besiged their opponents goal, after which they were play in turn, the Rangers ultimately getting a corner which resulted in the ball being again sent over the crossbar. The Thistle now made repeated attacks in their oppontences territory, but the light blues defence was too strong, and they were always repelled. The Thistle kept pressing their opponents, getting a scorner but it went behind. After this Chalmers managed to intercept a swift shot before it went through. Duff shortly after having to defened his charge.Following this the Rangers sent the ball through, but it was disallowed, the referee deciding it was offside.
