Match Trivia

At Ibrox Park, Govan estimated attendance 7000 drawings (gate and stands) £152. Partick Thistle with the wind played surprisingly well for half an hour. Rennie had two stiff shots to save from Ballantyne, but generally the shooting of the Thistle was not on a par with their outfield play. Gradually the strength of the Rangers half’s told and after the forwards had missed some fine openings Gordon ran through and scored, and added a second goal just before the interval. The game was one-sided in the second half, the Thistle right wing alone being able to relieve the pressure on their defence. Gordon charged down a return and scored a third goal, and from a penalty kick against Law, Gray scored for the Thistle
