Match Trivia

This match was played on the ground of Oxford at Queen’s Park on Saturday, and resulted in an easy victory for the Rangers, they having won three goals to nothing. Oxford having won the toss chose to play down hill. The Rangers having got the kick off the ball was now put in full swing, and the play on both sides was gone into with great spirit. Oxford got two or three goods run, but were soon stopped by their opponent’s backs who played with great judgement through out. The Oxford forwards play, this being their maiden match, was considered pretty fair. The Rangers forwards played well to one another, the speedy running and skilful play og Moses McNeil soon telling on the Oxford, he having taken the three goals very cleverly.
