Match Trivia
Motherwell succeeded in repeating their Ibrox performance at Fir Park. The Rangers were without Smith, Livingstone, May and Stark but had in good substitutes, including Law of Arbroath, their latest capture. The home side were at full strength. There was no scoring at the interval, although both goals had narrow escapes, Dickie and McFie being the most dangerous tryers. The Rangers forward play was disjoined and spasmodic and with the home attack playing a harrowing game, the defence was stretched to the full. It was not until fifteen minutes from time that Motherwell scored, the point being well earned. Law was well tested at back, and made a creditable show, while the newcomer McDonald of Raith Rovers gave a promise of developing into a heady player. Taking the game all over, Motherwell were the better side and ought to have emerged winners by more than the solitary goal
