The return game between these clubs took place on Capplielow Park Greenock, in presence of over 3000 spectators. The Rangers, with the wind in their favour during the first half, kept the Morton back division ill at easy. Four minutes after the start the light blues secured the first goal from a corner. Twenty minutes afterwards the Rangers, out of a scrimmage secured a second point. A few minutes afterwards, a third goal was gained by the light blues off one of the Morton backs. Just on the call of halftime Joyce sent the ball past Nicol for the first time. In the second half, with the wind in their favour, the Morton had most of the game, but the steady play of the back division of the Rangers frustrated their effort till a few minutes from time when the ball was again past Nicol.
