Match Trivia

These teams met at Easter Road, Edinburgh to fulfil their Inter-City League engagement, the attendance would number about 3000 spectators, no doubt the strong counter-attraction at the Gymnasium being the controlling factor. The Rangers opened strongly, and Rennie brought off some smart saves. Fine work by Harrower kept the visitors in check. The Hibs however broke through, but the Rangers soon returned to the attack. After this the home team more than held their own, and halftime arrived without either side scoring. On resuming the Hibs set a brisk pace and Dickie and the backs had to be on the alert. After Hamilton had tested Rennie at the other end, Boyle rushed off, and passing over to Hynds, the Black Watch man sent in a shot, which fairly beat Dickie. No further scoring took place, and the game ended – Hibernian 1 goal: Rangers 0. Gate and stands realised £80
