The above clubs met at Easter Road Edinburgh, in a friendly fixture for the holiday. The Rangers started, but the home team got possession, and put the visitors goal in a state of siege. With the aid of his backs McLeod managed to keep his lines intact. Not long after this the Rangers forward line pulled together and carried the ball to the other end. Muir shot across, and Stewart netted the first goal for the Rangers. The visitors played more together after this, and the game was very evenly contested. Result – Hibernian 3 goals: Rangers 1 goal.
