Match Trivia

At Tynecastle, Edinburgh estimated attendance 11,000 drawings (gate and stands) £280. Hearts started briskly the right wing putting in some fine work, but the first shot came from the Rangers when McPherson had a try from long range the ball going over the bar. The visitor’s forwards kept up a strong attack on the Hearts goal, but Collins saved time and again in masterly style. A penalty kick awarded to the Rangers was taken by May, but was not converted the ball hitting the cross bar. From this until the interval the visitor’s forwards monopolised the play, but the defence of the Hearts held out. In the second half the Rangers again roved the superior lot in the open. The Hearts defended strongly, and at the finish were undefeated
