Played at Middleton Park, and resulted in favour of the latter by four goals to nothing. The Havelock winning the toss took the choice of goals while Vallance kicked off for the Rangers. Shortly after the kick-off the ball was run up by M McNeil and centred to John Campbell who succeeded in placing it between the posts thus securing the first goal for the Rangers. Before haft time the same player succeeded in placing the other two goals to the credit of the Rangers, the last goal being taken by M McNeil shortly before time was called. The match all through being in favour of the Rangers, the goalkeeper only handling the leather once. For the Rangers the play of P Campbell and S Vallance was much admired, while for the Havelock Armstrong, back and Murray forward did good service for their side
